Susan Buckner, who played the iconic role of Patty Simcox in the beloved 1978 musical film "Grease," has died at the age of 66.

Buckner's son, Adam Josephs, confirmed the news on Friday, May 6. The actress passed away on Thursday, May 2. No cause of death has been released at this time.

Buckner was best known for her portrayal of the peppy and lovable cheerleader Patty Simcox, who was part of the Pink Ladies clique alongside Sandy Olsson (played by Olivia Newton-John). Her infectious energy and memorable dance moves made her a standout character in the film.

Before her role in "Grease," Buckner had a successful career as a dancer, performing on Broadway and in television commercials. After the film's release, she continued to work in both television and film, with appearances in "Happy Days," "Laverne & Shirley," and "Knots Landing." She also performed in live theater and taught dance.
